Chana Masala & Gobhi Hari Matar Sabji

Yep, I’m on an Indian kick. But this will likely be my last such food post for awhile, at least until I can replenish my supply of garam masala, tumeric, and chana masala. I’m all out! Sounds like a good excuse to head over to that Indian grocery across town that I’ve never visited.

Baigan Hari Matar Charchari

This weekend I had some friends over for games and I decided to cook them Indian food. I made Chicken Tikka Masala, Baigan Hari Matar Charchari, Naan, and Mango Lassi. The charchari was particularly good. It’s so simple a dish, but it has a unique method of cooking.

Good Weekends Are Meant To Be Shared

I think the weekend of March 29th & 30th was the best I’ve had since January. It was a long winter of not much social interaction. At least for me it seemed that way.

Friday was an exhausting day at work. A ten hour day, four of which involved running errands, is not so feasible at this . . . → Read More: Good Weekends Are Meant To Be Shared

For My Dad – Black Walnut Fudge

So, for my dad’s birthday last Friday I made him three pounds of black walnut fudge. He loves black walnuts, and he loves fudge, so this will be his sugar fix for the next six months or so…

This recipe makes a really smooth, almost praline-like, fudge. It could definately be substituted into making any nut-based fudge, . . . → Read More: For My Dad – Black Walnut Fudge

Best Carrot Cake Ever

The first time I tried making this I forgot the sugar. Don’t forget the sugar! It’s much better, and more cake-like, with the sugar. Of course the copious amounts of cream cheese frosting don’t hurt either!
